Salcombe Yacht Club is a prestigious private members' club with a proud maritime tradition, offering first class hospitality in a unique waterfront setting. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bar Manager to lead our bar operations, ensuring outstanding service for our members and guests.
Role Overview:
As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of our bar and lounge areas, overseeing staff, ensuring smooth service, maintaining high standards, and creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the character of our club.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage daily bar operations, including stock control, ordering, and supplier relations.
* Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff to deliver excellent service.
* Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and hygiene standards.
* Develop seasonal drink menus, wine lists, and specialty offerings.
* Monitor budgets, control costs, and maximise revenue opportunities.
* Foster a warm, professional, and member focused environment.
* Coordinate with the Events Manager to support club functions, regattas, and private bookings.
About You:
* Proven experience as a Bar Manager or Assistant Manager in a high-quality hospitality setting.
* Strong leadership, people management, and training skills.
* Excellent knowledge of wines and cellar management.
* Financial acumen and experience with stock control systems.
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
* Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive during peak club events.
