Instrumentation Engineer (Wind Tunnel) | Engineering | Bedford | £35k - £40k
Are you an experienced Time-Served Technician ready to work at the cutting edge of aerodynamic research? This is your chance to join a leading engineering company specializing in wind tunnel testing and model manufacturing. You'll be instrumental in creating and installing bespoke instrumentation for high-profile aerospace and defence projects.
As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will:
* Manufacture and install bespoke wiring looms and assemblies, including hand soldering of fine components.
* Calibrate, maintain, and fault-find sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems down to component level.
* Support model assembly and integration for test, providing instrumentation support for all test facilities.
* Specify required instrumentation from customer specifications and assist in operating the transonic wind tunnel.
What We're Looking For
* HNC/HND level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience) and an experienced time-served technician.
* Proven experience working in an R&D or commercial environment where precision and attention to detail are paramount.
* Ability to work on a rotating shift pattern (07:00–15:00 and 14:00–22:00) and satisfy UK security clearance requirements (5 years' continual UK residency).
