Our Team
Together, we engineer and build infrastructure, tools, access, and telemetry for systems that enable orchestration of Google-scale services. Come build things that matter.
As a Google Systems Engineer, you will:
1. Be responsible for deploying Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) solutions at customer sites and internal reference deployments.
2. Build expertise in deploying and operating GDCH solutions.
3. Perform troubleshooting and resolve Infrastructure issues (Network, Storage, Servers, OS, Kubernetes, etc.).
4. Interact with customers and internal teams to achieve shared goals.
5. Participate in deployments and training, which may require international travel.
6. Deliver train-the-trainer programs to enable customers and partners in their deployments.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Systems automation, design, implementation, and technical infrastructure experience.
2. Experience with IaaS solutions (e.g., Kubernetes, virtualization, hybrid cloud) and cloud storage solutions.
3. Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, SSH, etc.) and infrastructure experience (Linux, Kubernetes, Storage).
4. Customer solution engineering experience.
5. Scripting skills (Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby) for automation.
6. Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in IT production systems engineering.
7. Troubleshooting workload issues across multi-node environments and incident management.
8. Understanding of physical server, storage, and network devices.
9. Strong relationship-building and empathy skills.

Location: Your home office will be in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, or Glasgow. Travel may be up to 75%, including overseas assignments.
