We are looking for a Support Worker to join the Day Opportunities service at Corserv Care. The Echo Centre is a unique service for adults who have a disability or long-term health condition. The purpose of our service is to provide individuals with a meaningful and engaging daytime activity whilst meeting their care and support needs. Role Purpose: The centre promotes independence; empowerment and rehabilitation, supporting individuals to re-learn or develop new skills. This is achieved through using a wide variety of activities and fun interactive sessions.

What you'll be doing:

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have experience of supporting and encouraging individuals in their daily activities whilst ensuring that care, respect and dignity are shown at all times. This will be achieved through a varied and diverse range of activities that you would be planning and facilitating alongside other staff members, and no two days are ever the same at Echo.

You will be supporting clients to manage and improve their self-esteem and empower them to become more engaged and confident in their everyday life, through activities such as exercise, singing, art and craft, quizzes, gardening etc. You will need to have patience, humour and like being part of a lively, energetic team. The centre is a dynamic and vibrant place that offers the opportunity for you to be creative and innovative.

This is an exciting role which would suit an experienced individual who has previously worked in the learning disability sector and would like to develop their management skills alongside the continued transformation of day services within Cornwall.
