Overview
Are you an enthusiastic and motivated person interested in pursuing a pharmacy career in Wolverhampton? We are looking for hardworking, dynamic and bright individuals to take part in a new training role with rotation between GP surgery and Hospital settings. This is a two-year programme with one-year fixed-term contracts reviewed for renewal at the end of the first year, delivering 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Train and work across two different sectors of pharmacy – GP Practice and Pharmacy Department within the Trust.
* Receive supervision from registered Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists while developing practical experience in real work environments.
* Study to achieve: National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Science and a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) in the workplace.
* Produce a portfolio of work and undertake competence-based assessments and training exercises as part of the programme.
* Support the main dispensary in providing extended hours services.
* Expand and broaden skills and abilities while operating under supervision, or according to approved procedures.
* Rotate across GP Practice and Hospital settings to gain broad experience in pharmaceutical services.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Must meet the Gov.uk apprenticeship funding rules (Apprenticeship funding rules, 2025 to 2026).
* On successful completion, eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and reliability skills; ability to work in a supportive and dynamic team environment.
* Willingness to learn and undertake study while working, with supervision as required.
