Why Redcar Council?

Redcar Council is dedicated to providing robust safeguarding services to its community. As part of our Safeguarding Locality Team, you'll be instrumental in protecting vulnerable children, working within a supportive and collaborative environment that champions best practice.

* Developing, implementing, and reviewing robust child protection and child in need plans in partnership with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.

* Leading and actively participating in child protection conferences, core group meetings, and other multi-agency forums, ensuring the child's voice is central to all decision-making.

* Initiating and progressing pre-proceedings and care proceedings when necessary, preparing accurate and timely court reports and statements.

* Undertaking direct work with children and families, building meaningful relationships, promoting resilience, and facilitating positive change.

* Working collaboratively with a range of partners, including health, education, police, and voluntary sector organisations, to ensure integrated support.

* Maintaining accurate, analytical, and up-to-date case records in line with statutory requirements and Redcar Council's policies.

* Providing clear, professional advice and guidance to families and other professionals regarding safeguarding concerns and child protection processes.

* Participating in duty rotas as required by the service.

* Adhering to all relevant legislation, statutory guidance, and local policies to ensure high standards of practice and child safety.

Key Requirements:

* You must be a Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent.

* Social Work England registration is essential and must be current.

* An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

If you are a resilient, skilled, and child-focused Social Worker ready to contribute to a dedicated safeguarding team, we want to hear from you!
