About the Company Progressive law firm are looking for an Employment Solicitor in Edinburgh, ideally having around 3 years PQE. They act for a range of employers including UK and Scottish Government Departments and Agencies, Scottish Prison Service and large multinational commercial businesses through to small businesses managing their own employees.
The role will give you access to high profile significant litigation work from the outset with support from their large team, defending claims being pursued against their Government clients and the Scottish Prison Service in the Employment Tribunal. You will also have good opportunities to act for a range of other clients and provide general employment law and HR guidance to a range of employers.
Providing advice and guidance to clients concerning day to day employment law matters.
Preparing ET1 and ET3 submissions and other associated correspondence with the Employment Tribunal in relation to litigation.
Conducting legal research.
Advocacy at Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunals.
Drafting non-contentious documentation such as contracts of employment, handbooks, policies, and procedures.
Assisting with the delivery of presentations and training workshops to clients and non-clients.
Strong client focus and commercial awareness
The successful candidate should be able to manage a varied workload, be able to work alone and/or as part of a team and have a keen interest in the contentious side of employment law as you will gain unrivalled experience in Employment Tribunal litigation and advocacy.
