Overview
Job title: Software Engineer (Microservices)
Location: Preston (or any BAE Site Shared Services). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
Salary: Up to £45,000 dependent on experience
Responsibilities
* Translate business requirements and rules into technical design specifications, including engaging directly with customers and eliciting requirements and potential UX designs
* Build and deploy full stack web applications into the business, using an agile framework/methodology
* Investigate and respond to incidents in a timely and responsive manner ensuring service level agreements are achieved
* Create user guides and standard operating procedures
Essential qualifications and skills
* Knowledge and experience of web development, including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS; knowledge and understanding of material design
* Knowledge and understanding of front end and back end frameworks, such as VueJS, React and Node, .Net
* Understanding of unit and end to end testing
Desirable
* Knowledge of web development CI/CD release pipelines, IDEs, Git and/or Docker
* Knowledge of authentication methods, such as LDAP, Active Directory, KeyCloak
* Knowledge of architectural standards such as RESTful API
* Knowledge and understanding of MSSQL / SQL, writing queries using multiple tables, and interpreting results
* Working knowledge of microservices development

The Shared Services Data & Analytics Hub is at the heart of the company data and insights landscape, bringing together data from our global sectors to generate a broad range of insights to inform key business decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and design deliverables that provide meaningful outputs to the business.
