This permanent role is crucial in leading a team responsible for the management of the deployed capabilities, including radar, cameras, and other sensors, under the guidance of the CTO. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Act as part of the management team, reporting directly to the CTO. Lead and manage the Operational Engineering Team, including hiring, goal setting, establishing training needs, evaluating performance, and giving constructive appraisals. Demonstrate the company's values of trustworthiness, transparency, speed, and agility. Technical: Lead the company's operational engineering planning and delivery. Ensure satisfaction of customers' operational requirements, including surveillance, monitoring equipment, communications, site engineering, transport, and logistics. Familiar with working at height safety and compliance. Liaise with OEMs to understand technical developments and input into the design and product development process. Operational: In charge of maintaining two sub-teams ready to deploy, suitably qualified, experienced, and equipped to complete tasks. Oversight of the design, installation, and maintenance of the company's hardware, integrated with its software infrastructure. Assist in surveying and negotiating site locations and permissions, including overseas. Coordinate between the Operational Engineering Team and other technology teams to ensure effective software and hardware integration. Job Requirements: Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification to degree level. Strong organisational and management skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Electronics experience. Software experience (Windows, basic Linux, remote access, communications protocols). Preparedness to deploy and work within operational teams in the UK and overseas. Full driving licence. Desirable Skills: Networking experience (LTE, router setup, RMS systems). Familiarity with camera hardware (specifications, control protocols). Experience of working at height processes and training. Some coding knowledge (SQL and Python ideal). Engineering design and manufacture experience (CAD, fabrication).
