Childcare Assistant
Brinsbury First Steps have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Childcare Assistant at our Brinsbury College campus. You will join us on either a part time or full time basis. In return, we will offer a competitive salary pro rata of £26,455 £26,839.80 per annum.
A rural incentive payment of £1,000 will be paid on completion of the probationary period for staff new to First Steps Childcare Group.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensuring that the children are happy, settled and well cared for.
* To be a key worker for named children and to plan for individual needs and to keep accurate records.
* Working as part of a team to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met, and ensure that every child reaches their full potential.
* Working as part of a team to ensure effective and appropriate communication with parents, carers, members of staff and external agencies.
* Ensuring health, hygiene and safety standards are maintained.
* Assisting with all activities in the nursery as requested by senior staff.
* Respecting and maintaining the working environment and resources.
* Adhering to all First Steps operational policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
* Level 2/3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent)
* Working in a childcare setting or have undertaken a childcare placement
* An understanding of current Early Years regulations (including Early Years Statutory framework, EYFS Early Learning Goals, Ofsted Inspection Framework and Keeping Children Safe in Education)
* The ability to communicate to a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
* Able to work in a shift pattern
