Join to apply for the Teaching, Learning & Student Experience Administrator (Assessment & Progression and Curriculum & Programmes) role at The University of Manchester
We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised administrator to join our dynamic team supporting both the Assessment & Progression and Curriculum & Programmes teams. Based within the School of Medical Sciences, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to the academic success and experience of our students in Medicine and Dentistry.
As a TLSE Administrator, you’ll be part of a high-performing, collaborative team, providing essential support across two key functional areas. You'll play a key role in delivering critical assessments, providing frontline support to students and staff, and ensuring administrative processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Work you can expect to be involved in
* Supporting the delivery a variety of in person and online assessments and exams, including setup, scheduling, invigilation, results processing, moderation, exam boards, and publication.
* Supporting students and academic staff by interpreting and communicating complex assessment policies and regulations.
* Supporting cases of academic appeals, misconduct, and malpractice, ensuring sensitive and fair handling.
* Providing administrative support for Programme Committees and related sub-committees, including minute taking and follow-up actions.
* Ensuring maintenance of accurate student records.
* Taking ownership of key start-of-year processes, such as student registration, ordering and distributing course materials.
* Coordinating student attendance at conferences and external courses, including registration, travel and accommodation booking.
* Supporting curriculum planning and programme changes with accurate and timely documentation and data entry.
* Collaborating across teams and departments to ensure quality assurance and service consistency.
* Acting as a key contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication within the school and with central University services.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll bring a strong background in administration, ideally within a fast-paced environment such as higher education, healthcare, or a customer-facing role. You should have:
* Proven organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.
* A positive, flexible approach and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
* Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft 365; familiarity with Campus Solutions is desirable.
* A genuine interest in academic support and improving the student experience.
What You Will Get In Return
* Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
* Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
* Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
* Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
* Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
