Job Description
An exciting opportunity to lead the delivery and operations of our primary RTGS data analytics platform. RTGS settles on an average day £800 billion and is critical national infrastructure. R&A provides data insights to operators and participants of RTGS.,, .. You will have 8-10 direct reports, who are the technicians who develop and maintain this key component of the overall RTGS ecosystem.

A Day in the role
Your typical day might begin with a review of system health and incident reports, ensuring the Reporting and Analytics (R&A) data platform is operating with resilience and precision.
Later you might have a 1:1 or team catch up with your team members to align on live operations, engineering, risk and change management.
As you are responsible for delivery of change initiatives through your team, you will spend some time reviewing Jira tickets and delivery plans.
If an important incident has occurred, you attend the Major Incident Management (MIM) meeting. You are also a key contributor to the post-incident review process to ensure lessons are embedded into practice.
Role Requirements
As a Senior member of the RTGS Technology team you will report to the RTGS CNI Product Lead. You are an integral part of the team running our dedicated critical RTGS systems.
You will be an escalation point for your services. You will be responsible for talent management and career development for this area.
The role requires a team leader who demonstrates a collaborative and inclusive style to guide colleagues and deliver on business outcomes. As part of our Business-as-Usual Leadership Team you'll be a champion and role model for Technology's values.
Minimum Criteria
We're looking for someone who has the following demonstrable experience in:
3 years' experience with one or more of MS SQL, Jira, Azure SQL, Power BI, Synapse.
Experience of working in an operational environment and making real time technology decisions.
Implementing technology change and guiding and empowering a team through change.
Balancing supply (resource capacity) against demand of varying sizes - service support, large scale investment projects, and small change requests
Full systems/software development lifecycle, including successful delivery through agile methodologies, e.g. Scrum and SAFe
Ensuring that best practice is deployed in delivery and support of the RTGS solutions.
Essential Criteria
We are interested in hearing from candidates who also demonstrate some of the following capabilities:
The development and operations of critical financial services applications in a large-scale enterprise environment.
Have excellent knowledge and experience of leading technology teams (ideally a minimum 2 years).
Have experience of managing staff performance including development of high-performing staff and support of staff under-performance.
Collaborating with third parties and outsourced services.
Be able to demonstrate strong judgement, problem-solving and good analytical skills across wide range of internal and external sources of information.
Driving an automation agenda within your team.
Ensuring compliance with key audit, risk, and security policies and procedures
Supporting strong operational performance through effective support processes alongside delivery of change. Strong end-users focus and an excellent ability to manage customer relationships.
Desirable Criteria
It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:
Certification in Technology or with equivalent industry experience.
Experience working in financial services or regulated environments
Have familiarity with ITIL or similar service management approaches.
Strong stakeholder and customer relationship skills: able to communicate at senior level briefings through to domain-wide engagement events.
Management of an Application Development, Application Support or Infrastructure Delivery area
Management of third parties and outsourced services
General knowledge of all areas of IT Application and Infrastructure and of IT Security

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.
This role offers a salary of Leeds £64,480 - £72,540. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
