My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.
They are looking for a Finance & MI Reporting Manager to join the team on an initial 9 month contract. You will be working Monday to Friday, standard office hours with the occasional out of hours requirement in line with business needs. The role is hybrid working being in the office 2-3 days a week with the remainder of time working from home.
Purpose of Job
The Finance Management Reporting & Analytics team delivers performance reporting and performance analysis for the EMEA Region.
The Expense team supports a wide range of stakeholders within Finance and across the organisation's marketing, middle / back office and strategic planning departments.
The Expense team focus is to deepen business engagement and drive efficiency, innovation, and enhance financial performance.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Production of monthly expense and headcount MI including commentary.
Proactive generation of high-quality, insightful MI & ad hoc reporting under tight deadlines.
Identify and deliver opportunities for automation and enhancement across both processes and systems.
Act as a business partner across all areas of EMEA business to deepen business engagement and drive efficiency, innovation, and enhance financial performance.
Perform data analysis, data modelling, and data reconciliation activities to support a wide range of stakeholders.
Lead interaction and communication with Financial Control teams to drive operational process efficiency in content of wider F&C management reporting.
Proactively drive the evolution of Power BI analytics with timely and accurate updates to shared dashboards, and appropriate change management.
Proactively contribute to data analytics working groups and other relevant fora.
Perform and direct timely User Acceptance Testing completion for / by Finance colleagues and other stakeholders. This will include UAT of Reporting outputs / New Products / data model validation.
Knowledge and Experience
Positive and proactive in delivering change, process efficiency, BAU reporting work, ad hoc insights and deepening business engagement.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work with / build effective relationships with range of Finance / business functions across EMEA locations.
Management reporting skills, including impactful presentation of complex issues.
Ability to pro-actively work through problems and engage others as required.
Confidence in working both as part of a team (leading / participating) and as an individual.
Attention to detail is essential.
Understanding of relevant technical accounting and financial control knowledge.
Ability to process volume with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Advanced MS Excel skills / experience is essential.
Positive mindset to learn and apply new data tools (Power BI, Power Query, SQL etc).
Confident working with large data sets and performing data reconciliation is essential.
Experience working in a Finance-based reporting role (Management Reporting, Financial Reporting, Product Control, Tax or Regulatory Reporting).
Prior experience working within Corporate or Investment Banking.
Experience performing user acceptance testing (UAT) is desirable.
Educated to degree level or equivalent vocational qualification in a Finance / Banking / Accounting / Data Science / Data Analytics Discipline.
