A qualified (CIMA or ACCA) and experienced (minimum five years) finance professional, is required to join an exceptional logistics company in an exciting, commercial role Financial Business Partner. The business provides warehousing and logistics services both to other group entities and to third parties, largely in the retail and automotive spaces.The company is highly successful and is moving into a new, state of the art, purpose-built facility next month. The Financial Business Partner will report into the companys Group Commercial Finance Manager, while also having a dotted reporting line into the Operations Director. He or She will: Be a business partner to the Operations Director for the Northern warehouse locations, focusing on cost management, inventory control and CVR preparation in conjunction with commercial managers. Oversee the financial reporting of all logistics projects. Have day-to-day P&L and Balance sheet control for all 3PL, Retail Contracts and Transport across the locations, utilizing the support of the central finance team. Design, prepare and maintain actuals, forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis for both customer-facing and internal purposes on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Support contractual negotiations for renewals and new business Undertake data analysis reporting with a view to improving efficiency and improving process. Reporting and monitoring of key performance indicators. Oversee stock holding - both businesses owned and client owned. Ensure that the business operates a robust monthly cycle count process across all Northern locations. Work with operational team and help road map and implement process change to reduce costs and improve productivity. Ensure accurate and timely billing of costs to the client and support commercial & procurement teams to minimise WIP. Continually review and analyse project commercial risk in conjunction with project surveyors. Ensure costs are accurately accrued within each period. Support, as required, on external client audits and financial audits. Essential qualifications, experience and skills required for the Financial Business Partner include: Bachelors degree in accounting, finance (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) 5 years of experience in a similar financial role Demonstrate drive, energy and a commitment to the continuous improvement of overall contract performance. Be proactive and inquisitive with a passion for challenging teams to drive performance. An ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards. Must be flexible and respond positively and accurately to internal and external customer requests. Excellent customer rapport skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and analytic software; ability to perform database collection, use software programs to gather data for modelling and make meaningful use of the data. Experience with large databases and the ability to utilize data from various BI systems. Knowledge of Microsoft BI would be advantageous.
