We are looking for a permanent, full‑time Commercial & Compliance Manager to work in our Biggleswade office reporting to the Board of Directors. The key tasks are detailed below. As this is a wide ranging role we will consider candidates who currently have the majority of these skills, if not all.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage company memberships and accreditations (eg Achilles, Constructionline and SSIP)
* Liaise with clients on contractual matters, review client contracts and negotiate changes to clauses as necessary
* Maintain and audit company ISO 9001 quality system, and liaise with accrediting body, particularly during external audit
* Draft/amend and review company Policy Statements and Quality Procedures
* Manage Health and Safety procedures and arrange H&S staff training. Liaise with Spectrum’s H&S external advisors as required
* Working with external advisors and a Spectrum Director to develop and maintain company Risk Assessments
* Maintain company training matrix and individual PPE registers
* Manage company insurance policies, both commercial and staff benefit insurances, with the assistance of the company brokers
* Liaise with company solicitors on legal matters as required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Ideally have experience in the built‑environment sector (architecture, engineering, planning or construction industry), though we will also consider strong candidates from related professional services
* You will need at least 5 years experience in a commercial / compliance role with a proven track record
* You will ideally have a higher level qualification in Business Studies or a closely related subject
* You will be a good communicator, have a good level of written English and be well organised
* Be able to work on your own as well as part of a small teamYou must have the right to work in the UK
