CI229760 - Consultant in Critical Care Medicine
Join our Critical Care team in Aberdeen. The Critical Care unit is one of the largest and busiest in Scotland, providing all aspects of organ support as well as being the nationally commissioned centre for Respiratory ECMO.
Full registration with GMC practise is required. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate alignment with NHS Scotland values.

Responsibilities
* Eight Direct Clinical Care (DCC) sessions per week – six in Critical Care, two in another area based on skill set.
* Eight hours per week allocated to Supporting Professional Activities (two Personal Assistants).
* First two years – dedicated SPA session for training and independent competence in ECMO retrieval work.
* Active service development, quality improvement programme, links with University of Aberdeen for teaching and research.
Qualifications
* Full GMC licence to practise (in place prior to starting).
* Higher specialist training leading to CCT in Intensive Care Medicine, or within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Intensive Care Medicine from date of interview.
* CESR or Portfolio Pathway route – eligible only after registration awarded.
* International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by GMC – confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
* Knowledge of respiratory ECMO and retrieval work.
