Job Summary

Research Facilitator – The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Fixed‑term, Part‑time, 12 months, Band 6, 44,485 – 52,521 p.a. Location: Hillingdon Hospital, Uxbridge, UB8 3NN


Responsibilities

* Coordinate the setup of research projects at all stages – expressions of interest, feasibility, regulatory submission and operational launch.
* Provide project management support and maintain research governance reviews, contractual agreements and capacity/capability documentation.
* Ensure compliance with Research Governance, HRA Guidance, ICH GCP and EU/UK guidelines – including regulatory inspections and audit preparation.
* Communicate complex information to internal and external staff, explain processes for ethical and NHS R&D capacity and capability.
* Lead on study amendments – assess financial, resource and safety implications, negotiate contract amendments and resolve queries.
* Maintain research databases, generate reporting, extract information from web‑based databases and Excel files.
* Oversee office supplies, invoice processing and generic R&D inbox management.
* Line manage and supervise junior facilitators and administrators when required.


Qualifications

* Degree level (preferably Biomedical Science, Health or Research) or equivalent experience with good secondary level education.
* Experience working in a research setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, web‑based applications, databases and reporting tools.
* Previous experience in research administration – organising events and training.
* Knowledge of medical and research terminology.
* Knowledge of R&D processes and research governance requirements for clinical research.
* Desirable: postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience; medical terminology qualification; project management qualification; NHS organisational policies and procedures knowledge.


Person Specification

* Essential: Degree level, research experience, Microsoft Office proficiency, research administration experience, medical terminology knowledge, R&D governance knowledge.
* Desirable: Postgraduate qualification or equivalent, medical terminology qualification, project management qualification, NHS policy and procedure knowledge.


Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 – a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be required.
