PASTORAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT
32.5 hours per week (Term Time Only)
Grade 3 (£25,583 x 77.15%)
Start date – 1st September 2026
The Temporary Governing Body are seeking to appoint a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Pastoral Support Worker to join our team at Ysgol Cambrian. This role is central to supporting pupils with a wide range of personal care, health and wellbeing needs, ensuring they are safe, comfortable and ready to learn throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will work as part of our pastoral support team to provide high quality personal care, including toileting, changing, washing, feeding and supporting pupils with mobility and specialist equipment. They will also assist with transitions around the school, such as moving pupils safely between transport, classrooms and dining areas, and will provide support in classes when required.
We are seeking an individual who can build positive, constructive relationships with pupils, respond sensitively to individual needs, and promote dignity, independence and inclusion. Strong communication skills, patience, empathy and the ability to work calmly under pressure are essential. Experience of working with children or young people with additional learning needs (ALN) is highly desirable.
