Job Overview
To ensure the delivery of an efficient, reliable and cost-effective Supply Chain service that meets the needs of customers and the Trust. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Supply Chain, the post holder is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day delivery of Supply Chain services at site level, ensuring the efficient, reliable and cost-effective supply of medical and non-medical consumables to clinical and non-clinical departments and prioritising operational activities to support patient care. The post holder provides operational supervision to the Supply Chain team, including allocating work, monitoring performance and supporting staff development to ensure service standards are maintained. This will require developed effective communication and problem-solving skills while maintaining a focus on providing required service level to a range of Clinical Departments. The post holder is required to support the implementation of Inventory Management systems and perform the role of Inventory Management Champion on the relevant hospital site. The post holder will monitor supply chain performance, manage stock availability, support service improvements and ensure compliance with Trust policies, financial procedures and health and safety requirements. This role requires a combination of supervisory responsibility, operational decision-making and physical activity associated with stores and logistics operations.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day supervision and operational leadership to the Supply Chain team and Departments.
* Allocate work, monitor workloads and ensure operational tasks are completed to agreed standards.
* Support staff attendance management and address operational performance issues, escalating where necessary.
* Contribute to staff development through supervision, coaching and on-the-job training.
* Promote a positive and professional team culture focused on service quality and customer care.
