Location and Role Details
We are seeking Support Workers for our Children's Residential and Intervention Homes in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Our homes accommodate children up to 18 who have experienced trauma and may present behaviors of concern. We are expanding and will open a new residential home in early 2025, supporting young people's transition into foster care or supported living. The role involves outdoor activities, therapeutic work, and building relationships.
Responsibilities
1. Trauma-Informed Support: Provide trauma-informed responses and appropriate interventions during crises.
2. Child Safety: Manage child protection issues and understand risk assessments and behavior support plans.
3. Professional Boundaries: Maintain respectful and safe relationships with young people.
4. Encouragement and Support: Promote engagement in activities to build confidence and skills.
5. Creating a Homely Environment: Maintain cleanliness, safety, and promote positive choices.
6. Record Keeping: Document and communicate relevant information to safeguard young people's welfare.
Position Details
This is a permanent role, working on a rota basis: Day 1: 9.00-23.00 with sleep-in; Day 2: 7.30-23.00 with sleep-in; Day 3: 7.30-10.00; Days 4-6: off. Candidates must have a full driving license and access to a car. An enhanced DBS disclosure is required, which will be paid for by Fair Ways.
