Overview

Are you enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to supporting children and young people to ensure that every moment matters? Ideal candidates will:

* Hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare / Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
* Have previous experience of supporting children and young people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and other needs.
* Share our core values and be able to apply them to the work that you do. Our ethos is underpinned by five key words: Potential, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity, Empathy.

The role

Provide a high standard of support that enables our children and young people to be as independent as they can, learn and develop through education and experience, stay healthy and have a fun, fulfilling life.

Key responsibilities

* Providing practical assistance and emotional support to empower our young people to achieve their goals and aspirations, respecting everyone’s individuality and enabling them to make appropriate choices to live the life they wish, in line with their individual support plans.
* Complete a range of records and documents.
* Promote the health, well-being, physical, emotional, cultural and spiritual beliefs of the people supported and ensure they are met in an inclusive way.
* Facilitating social, educational and play or recreational activities of their choice. Supporting them to maintain contact with families or significant others is a key priority.
* The role requires you to undertake all aspects of day to day household tasks such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Our young people also need to be supported to manage their personal care and hygiene.
