CNC - MachinistLocation: Barton Under Needwood Pay Rate: £18.79 per hour PAYEJob Type: 6-month contract (with a view to go permanent) or permanent from the outsetAbout the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Machinist to join a well-established engineering team. Based in Barton Under Needwood, with initial training provided in Doncaster (.30 p per mile), this role offers the opportunity to secure a long-term position within a high-quality manufacturing environment.You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and strict quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, and operate CNC and/or manual machines (turning, milling, grinding)Interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specificationsMonitor machining processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and product qualityCarry out inspection of finished components using precision measuring equipment (e.g. micrometres, verniers, gauges)Make minor program edits or tooling adjustments where requiredMaintain machines and work areas to a high standard of housekeeping (5S)Follow all health & safety procedures and company policiesWork to production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standardsSkills & ExperiencePrevious experience within a machining or manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancesCNC programming experience (desirable but not essential)Competent in the use of measuring equipmentExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamQualificationsEngineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (preferred)Relevant machining or CNC certifications (advantageous)What We OfferCompetitive hourly rate of £18.79Opportunity for a permanent positionStructured training provided in DoncasterSupportive working environment with modern equipmentCareer development opportunities within a growing organisationApply NowIf you’re an experienced Machinist looking for your next opportunity with long-term potential, apply today and take the next step in your career.About Ford & Stanley GroupFord & Stanley Talent Services Group are in the business of people and performance.
