Accounts Supervisor

Our client, based in Burton-upon-Trent, is seeking a hands-on Accounts Supervisor to join their small, dedicated finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, has strong all-round transactional finance experience (must include sales ledger and credit control), and is happy to get involved wherever needed to support the Financial Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the sales ledger process across multiple currencies, including preparing and issuing invoices, posting payments, reconciling accounts, and producing month-end reports.
2. Carry out credit checksfor new customers and ensure accurate setup of new accounts on internal systems.
3. Oversee credit control activities by following up on overdue balances, maintaining regular customer contact, and resolving payment or invoice discrepancies efficiently.
4. Act as the first point of contact for queries within the finance team (team of 2)and other departments, escalating issueswhere appropriate.
5. Monitor workload and deadlines across the department, ensuring tasks are completed on time and highlighting any risks to the Financial Controller.
