GRAHAM ACADEMY – APPRENTICE DIGITAL CONSTRUCTION COORDINATOR

As GRAHAM continues to grow and develop, we’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Digital Construction Co-Ordinator in either our Manchester or Glasgow offices. In this role, you’ll be part of our Digital Construction Team, helping to manage and organise project information, using cutting-edge digital tools on live construction sites and contributing to high-profile projects across sectors like education, healthcare, retail, and commercial. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working towards a fully funded, industry-recognised Apprenticeship qualification.

The Apprentice Digital Construction Coordinator will support the Digital Construction Management Team in the areas listed below. Full support by the Digital Construction Management Team will be provided in these duties.

Information Management

1. Support the Digital Construction team in production, management and compliance of Information Management Policies
2. Support the use Specialist Digital Information Management software to support project delivery
3. Support on all aspects of project Information Management delivery as set out in GRAHAM Information Management Processes and IMS as required
4. Support in the identification of appropriate hardware and software for use to deliver construction projects meeting Information Management client requirements in line with ISO standards
5. Support the team in providing advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to Information Management
6. Support the identification of project risks in terms of Information Management delivery against ISO standards
7. Support the team in identification of benefits and lessons learned for every Information Management project that is completed and put in place continuous improvement
Digital Construction
8. Support the team in the identification of new software and solutions relevant to the GRAHAM Digital Information Management
9. Support the team in the role of providing advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to Digital Information Management
10. Support the team in management and review of the software application portfolio, identifying potential new software and solutions required for both delivery teams on site and back office teams for Digital Information Management
11. Understand solutions lifecycle, and exploit standard solutions throughout the GRAHAM business, identify solutions that are not providing value and be part of the team to retire these solutions
12. Support identification of benefits and lessons learned in terms of Digital Information for every project completed and proactively seek to improve
13. Support Digital Information KPI targets are agreed and met
User Support
14. Take ownership for all business function requests within Digital Construction Team and their support within the IT function
15. Manage and own case/issues log with 3rd party vendors as required
16. Escalate Service Level Agreement issues/non-deliverables to line manager
Training & Documentation
17. Support Digital Information Management training strategic and tactical plans
18. Support the developed, deployment and maintenance of training materials for key Digital Information solutions within remit
19. Identify, prepare and deliver training needs within remit
20. Support the preparation of business process and end-user documentation, advise of updates in areas of responsibility
21. Proactively ensure all IT documentation for change requests, projects and processes are prepared & validated in a timely manner/in accordance with initiative delivery plan

This job description is intended to give the apprentice an appreciation of the role of the Apprentice Digital Construction Coordinator. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Technical Competencies

Essential

22. Working on or intending to undertake a Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeship in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering, BIM Information Modelling, Project Management or Equivalent
23. Demonstrate strong communication skills
24. IT Competent
25. Team working ethic both within commercial team and within whole organisation
26. Willing to travel throughout the UK
27. Full UK Driving Licence

Negotiation: Willingness to learn and the ability to understand negotiation skills and why these are important for all supply chain members all contractual rights and obligations are realised and protected.

About You

TECHNICIAL APPRENTICESHIP

Technical Apprenticeships are available at multiple entry points, including GCSEs, A Levels, SQA Highers and BTEC qualifications. We are currently seeking candidates who are ready to progress onto a Higher or Degree Level Apprenticeship. These programmes are offered from Level 4 to Level 7 in Northern Ireland and England, and from SCQF Level 7 to Level 11 in Scotland.

A Higher Apprenticeship provides a structured pathway to develop your skills while earning a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the workplace alongside dedicated study time, with all training costs fully funded. These programmes offer a clear route to professional body membership and can lead to a very rewarding and diverse career.

Successful candidates are expected to join the company from June onwards. This applies to those seeking graduate roles, industrial placements, or apprenticeship opportunities.
