Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to foster meaningful relationships within local communities and promote organisational initiatives. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your skills in project management, leadership, and social media management to make a positive impact. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory experience, excellent organisational abilities, and a passion for public health and community development. You will work alongside the Centre Manager to coordinate activities, strengthen community engagement, manage administrative and monitoring systems, support volunteers, and contribute to the financial sustainability of the centre through fundraising, marketing and effective financial processes.
Duties
* Develop, organise and deliver inclusive, creative and meaningful programmes for children, families, adults and older people.
* Manage and supervise community events, workshops, and campaigns
* Coordinate with stakeholders, partners, and volunteers to ensure programme success
* Utilise social media platforms to promote initiatives, share success stories, and increase engagement
* Oversee fundraising activities to support community projects
* Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback to inform programme development
* Prepare reports on programme outcomes and community impact for internal review
* Provide leadership and mentorship to team members involved in community activities
* Manage administrative tasks related to project planning, scheduling, and documentation
* Foster strong relationships with local organisations, schools, health agencies, and other relevant entities
Experience
* Proven supervising experience in community programmes or related fields
* Strong background in project management with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to motivate diverse teams
* Experience in marketing and social media management to effectively reach target audiences
* Knowledge of fundraising strategies and grant writing is desirable
* Administrative experience in organising events, maintaining records, and preparing reports
* Understanding of public health principles and community development practices is advantageous
* Teaching or training experience that supports educational outreach efforts is a plus
