About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Social Work Senior Practitioner to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team in Bromley. This vital role will involve working at the forefront of safeguarding, collaborating with various agencies to assess and respond to referrals concerning the safety and wellbeing of children and families. You will play a key role in driving effective safeguarding practices and ensuring high-quality interventions for children in need.
As a Senior Practitioner, you will provide leadership and support to less experienced staff within the MASH team, contributing to the development of effective safeguarding strategies and a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the assessment and decision-making processes for safeguarding referrals received by the MASH team, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, utilising a multi-agency approach to gather and analyse information from a range of sources.
* Provide expert guidance and support to social workers and other team members, promoting best practices in safeguarding and child protection.
* Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans and interventions, ensuring that the needs and rights of children and families are at the forefront of all decisions.
* Collaborate closely with partner agencies, including health, education, and police, to share information and coordinate interventions that safeguard children.
* Participate in and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including child protection conferences, strategy meetings, and safeguarding panels, advocating for the best interests of children.
* Mentor and supervise less experienced staff, providing regular feedback and support to develop their skills and practice.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and outcomes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
* Stay informed about developments in legislation, policy, and best practices related to safeguarding and social work, sharing knowledge with the team.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the MASH team, including participation in quality assurance activities and service improvements.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) from a UK university.
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Significant post-qualification experience in children’s services, particularly in safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration.
* Proven experience in managing safeguarding cases and working effectively within a multi-agency framework.
* Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality practice and achieving positive outcomes for children.
