Offer description

At Paragraf, we are unlocking the true potential of graphene electronics — transforming a revolutionary material into scalable, real-world products. Our proprietary technology enables us to fabricate high-purity, transfer-free graphene directly onto semiconductor-compatible substrates and therefore scale high volume electronics that no one else globally has been able to achieve, harnessing its unique properties.

At Paragraf we are committed to materially transforming electronics through the development of high-purity graphene products that will facilitate massive improvements in the performance of technologies across all aspects of life.

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution for our molecular sensing technology platform — where graphene’s ultra-sensitivity and fast response redefine what's possible in detecting molecular signatures. Making advanced sensing platforms possible for critical sectors such as industrial safety, biotech, environmental monitoring, and healthcare.

Graphene is enabling a new generation of molecular sensing — from ultra-sensitive point-of-care diagnostics to wearables and portable chemical monitors. As the Product Manager, you’ll shape the first commercial applications of this frontier technology.

Role and Responsibilities

Customer Problems First We begin with the end-user — not the feature list — and work backwards to solve real, valuable problems in harsh and high-stakes environments.

Product Thinking at Every Level From material innovation to sensor packaging to data output — we expect Product Managers to own the full product stack.

Cross-Functional, Empowered Teams You’ll be a co-leader with engineering and science, not a requirements-writer. Real product leadership is expected and supported.

Outcomes Over Output Success is when we deliver sensors that outperform and outlast — not just when we ship.

Shape the Future of Molecular Sensing

At Paragraf, we are pioneering the application of graphene electronics to build the next generation of ultra-sensitive, scalable, and durable molecular sensors. Our patented, transfer-free graphene integration process enables the development of high-performance field-effect transistor (FET)-based sensing technologies.

We're looking for a Product Manager to lead the vision, development, and commercialization of graphene-based molecular sensing. Initial focus will include ion, pH and gas sensing solutions. Through partners we will be advancing the fields of medical diagnostics, agriculture, environmental monitoring, food and beverage quality control.

Bridge Science and Market

You will identify and prioritize target markets where graphene delivers key USPs such as unmatched sensitivity, speed, or miniaturization. Market opportunities where legacy ion-sensitive FET (ISFET) and electrochemical sensors fall short — and where graphene molecular sensors can deliver superior performance, robustness, and longevity.

Translate cutting-edge scientific discoveries into clear product requirements that meet real-world regulatory, clinical, and operational needs.

Drive validation and proof-of-concept efforts with partners in industrial and life sciences domains.

Drive End-to-End Product Execution

Own the roadmap from early prototyping through environmental testing, integration, and customer pilots.

Coordinate cross-functional development efforts and ensure successful handoff to scale-up manufacturing, and commercial deployment.

Lead Customer Discovery & Engage with a Technical Lens

Engage early and often with researchers, industrial scientists, OEMs, and systems integrators to understand user needs and ensure product-market fit.

Conduct deep discovery with end-users in manufacturing, chemical processing, agriculture, and utilities to understand workflows, pain points, and unmet sensing needs.

Build and maintain customer partnerships for pilot deployments, feedback loops, and long-term success.

Ensure feedback loops inform future iterations and platform evolution.

Translate Technology into Real-World Products

Work closely with applied materials scientists, production engineers, and electronics experts to develop scalable sensing platforms optimized for industrial use.

Define product requirements based on industrial standards (e.g., IP ratings, temperature range, chemical resistance) and customer use cases.

Requirements

What we're looking for

* In depth experience in product management or technical product development for industrial sensors, environmental monitoring systems, chemical instrumentation, or related technologies.
* Experience taking hardware products from concept through to pilot and scale in a B2B industrial context.
* Strong systems-level thinking, with an ability to balance materials science innovation, electronics design, and customer needs.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication across engineering, science, commercial, and operational teams.
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field of study
* Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, across scientific, engineering, operational and commercial teams and stakeholders.

Advantageous but not essential skills

* Deep understanding of sensor technology and molecular detection principles — whether FET-based sensors, ISFETs, optical or electrochemical detection technologies.
* Background in 2D materials.
* Familiarity with industrial standards and certifications (e.g. ATEX, IP ratings, ISO 14001) or ISO 13485, FDA, CE-marking, or other medical device standards.
* Experience working with academic research labs or translational innovation projects.
* A comprehensive understanding of molecular or biological applications.
* An interdisciplinary background would be ideal.

Additional factors

* Respect and adherence to confidentiality and critical matters.
* Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by complying with company policies and processes and all relevant regulations including the use of PPE, as appropriate to the level and scope of the role. This includes participation in health and safety training and reporting of any potential hazards or breaches of safety protocols in the appropriate manner.
* Willing to travel both domestically and abroad.
* UK Driving licence.

Benefits

At Paragraf we are constantly looking for new ways to support and reward our team. This is our current list of benefits, they are subject to change and review

* Group Personal Pension Plan- Employer contribution 5%, Employee contribution minimum 4%
* Private health insurance on completion of probation
* Share Option scheme
* Death in service of 3 times salary and income protection on completion of probation
* 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, and the chance to ‘purchase’ up to 5 additional days each year
* Employee Assistance Programme
* Cycle to work scheme
* Electric Vehicle Lease Scheme
* Payroll Giving scheme
