Senior Project Officer - Business Development
Opportunity Sheffield is seeking a Senior Project Officer - Business Development to join our team within Sheffield City Council's Employment and Skills service. This role is pivotal in supporting employment, economic inclusion, and skills development projects, including contracts targeting specific groups such as individuals with health requirements and socially excluded individuals.
The successful candidate will report to the Strategic Support Co-ordinator and will be responsible for generating employment and workforce development opportunities by engaging with existing and new employer contacts, providing a holistic work and skills consultancy service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Stay updated on local labour market news.
2. Identify and generate new employment opportunities and address workforce skills gaps.
3. Maintain and develop relationships with employers regarding employment and skills.
4. Attend network events to generate business leads.
5. Support continuous improvement of employment projects and provide updates to senior colleagues.
6. Collaborate with internal and external partners to build relationships.
7. Promote inclusive and alternative recruitment processes to employers.
8. Plan and organise workload effectively and efficiently.
9. Monitor service delivery and ensure optimal use of resources.
10. Work with the Strategic Support Co-ordinator to respond to employer needs and explore innovative solutions.
11. Identify risks and opportunities, advising senior managers accordingly.
12. Develop systems and processes across Employment Programmes and report progress through reports and presentations.
