About the Role
We are hiring for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join a leading independent building supplies company. This is a customer-facing role where you will ensure timely and safe delivery of building materials to trade and retail customers, while representing the business with professionalism and excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
As an Class 2 HGV Driver, you will:
Safely operate HGV vehicles to deliver building materials to customer sites.
Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in full compliance with road safety regulations.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a positive company image.
Assist with loading and unloading goods when required.
Work closely with the branch team to coordinate delivery schedules and routes.
Skills and Experience Required
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A valid HGV licence (Class 2 minimum) and CPC qualification.
Previous experience in a delivery role, ideally within the builders' merchant or construction sector.
Strong awareness of health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
