Currently there is substantial provision available tosupport young people with their mental health across a range of sectorsincluding health, education, 3rd sector and local authority provision. Howeverthe overall system isnt joined up with a lack of information available aroundwhat different organisations provide, what capacity they have and how to referetc. This makes it very difficult to ensure that young people are directed tothe best service to meet their needs, and can lead to delays in accessingappropriatesupport, duplication of referrals, and families feeling uncertain orunsupported as they are moved between services.
The post holder for this role will spend time working acrossthe system to build relationships and capture the breadth of support available. This information will be used to:
1 - Develop and provide resources and expert guidance tosupport primary care staff in ensuring children and young people are directedto the right service at the right time, and that familiesreceivetimely, appropriate, and joined-up support.
2 - Support young people identified through the trailblazerinitiative (read more here) in accessing appropriate services.
This post presents an exciting opportunity to lead atransformational and ground breaking piece of work that will make a meaningfuldifference to the lives of children, young people, and families and providecrucial insight into how the health and care systems need to function movingforwards.
