Overview
We are seeking to appoint a fixed-term Lecturer in Real Estate, on a part-time, 0.6 FTE contract, to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Architecture and Environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a property professional to contribute to the education and development of the next generation of real estate and property practitioners. Applications from individuals with current or recent industry experience in asset management, property portfolio strategy, valuation, landlord and tenant management, or real estate investment analysis are welcome.
You will support the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in property investment and management, bringing real-world insight to the curriculum. The role involves teaching, assessment, and supporting students’ academic and professional development. Depending on interests and expertise, there may be opportunities to contribute to curriculum design, module leadership, or applied research activities. This position is ideally suited to professionals seeking a flexible academic role alongside consultancy or part-time industry commitments. Prior teaching experience is desirable but not essential.
About You: candidates should have a diverse skill set and be well-versed in guiding students through the core concepts of the progressive digitisation of the industry, with in-depth knowledge of academic theory and/or practice in asset management, property portfolio strategy, valuation, landlord and tenant management, or real estate investment analysis. You should be qualified to doctoral level (or near completion) with relevant academic experience. If from a professional practice/industry background, you should hold a qualification equivalent to a master’s degree (or above) in a subject relevant to this post, along with professional/industry experience, and be able to demonstrate continuous academic/professional growth in relevant subject areas.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our Frenchay campus, with access to facilities and resources to support staff and students. The role is campus-based, with the opportunity to work from home as appropriate.
