We are responsible for the MEP services delivery, health & safety, and subcontractor performance and wellbeing, liaising with the client, main contractor, and consultants. The role manages multiple sub-contractors, sub-sub-contractors, and suppliers on medium/large size projects while mentoring and guiding others.
You'll be responsible for:
1. Working within the project team, under direction, communicating and coordinating with colleagues, with the ability to offer guidance and mentoring to others.
2. Planning, monitoring, and managing the completion of the MEP installation and testing, using installation expertise and business management processes.
3. Managing onsite activities and liaising with project sub-contractors, sub-sub-contractors, and suppliers. Accountable for programme, HSW, and quality deliverables of their package or system.
4. Coordinating and managing onsite interfaces between packages.
5. Liaising and coordinating with key project stakeholders, design CMT, and construction teams.
6. Establishing risk identification and the production and implementation of mitigation plans.
7. Supervising and utilizing modern methods of construction, digital technologies, and prefabrication.
8. Providing comprehensive onsite implementation of Mace's standards and project strategies.
9. Working collaboratively towards the net zero carbon transition, sharing responsibility for managing associated carbon emissions during project delivery.
Qualifications:
* Completed technical/engineering apprenticeship (trade/technical) or equivalent.
* Relevant City and Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* Relevant BTECH/HNC or equivalent.
* Relevant CSCS Card.
* SMSTS health & safety training.
* Advanced knowledge of a technical trade (building services engineering), including installation and testing methods, best practices, and prefabrication for supervision, planning, and quality control.
Additional skills and knowledge:
* Proficient knowledge of other technical trades, including basic installation techniques and collaboration across systems.
* Understanding of construction build elements, sequencing, and dependencies.
* Basic knowledge of commercial management to assist with commercial control.
* Proficient planning and management skills, including understanding of construction schedules and commissioning activities.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare standards, including working at height, electrical safety, fire safety, logistics, and lifting.
* Understanding of quality assurance and system commissioning processes.
* Proficient in digital setting out and scanning technologies.
* Basic understanding of system integration, BMS, and IST periods.
