The Opportunity
A leading international professional services firm is seeking a Legal Project Management (LPM) Analyst to join its London-based team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3–4+ years’ experience in a law firm or professional services environment who is looking to build a long-term career in legal project management, legal operations and financial performance management.
You will work closely with Partners, Associates and senior stakeholders on complex, often multi-jurisdictional matters across Disputes and Transactions, helping drive efficiency, profitability and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Project & Matter Management
Support the delivery of structured legal project management on complex matters
Assist with scoping, project planning, timelines and resource coordination
Track progress against scope, timeline and cost parameters
Maintain matter documentation and audit trails
Financial Management & Reporting
Support matter budgeting and forecasting
Monitor WIP, fee spend and matter profitability
Identify revenue leakage and cost risks
Undertake financial analysis to support write-offs and negotiations
Ensure compliance with financial disciplines (e.g. time recording)
Data, Metrics & Performance Insight
Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting (Excel / Power BI)
Analyse matter data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
Create actionable insights for Partners and Practice Managers
Process Improvement & Legal Operations
Support legal process design initiatives (including process mapping)
Assist with managed service pilots and innovation projects
Help develop and maintain LPM tools, templates and best-practice materials
Engage with collaboration and legal technology platforms
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Communicate regularly with lawyers and business services teams
Support client reporting and status updates
Assist in preparing content for client and panel pitches
Deliver training sessions and demos on LPM tools and processes

About You
*
3–4+ years’ experience within a law firm or professional services firm
*
Strong understanding of legal processes and law firm economics
*
Experience supporting budgets, WIP management and financial reporting
*
Strong analytical capability — able to turn raw data into commercial insight
*
Advanced Microsoft 365 skills (Excel essential; Power BI highly desirable)
*
Confident communicator with strong drafting and presentation skills
*
High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
*
Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, international environment
*
Commercially aware with sound judgement
Desirable:
*
Experience with Elite, Aderant or similar financial practice management systems
*
Power BI / Power Automate experience
*
Exposure to legal technology, automation or AI tools
*
Asian language skills (Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Bahasa) advantageous
