Arup has made sustainability and the transition to net zero a priority in its operations and project work. Our team of civil engineers contribute to the firm's work on modelling, coordination, integration and design for a broad range of energy, water, maritime and broader infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
On this 12‑week Summer Internship you'll work alongside skilled professionals and from day one you will be working on real‑life meaningful projects – adding value to clients while exploring challenges with curiosity and creativity. You’ll learn from others and begin creating your professional network ready for when you graduate. There are regular learning sessions with our leadership team, opportunities for site visits to local projects and all kinds of social events that will support your learning and development.

What You’ll Do
* You’ll help deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high‑profile clients.
* From day one, you will take on responsibility and be given the chance to broaden your skills.
* Projects include those for the Environment Agency/Natural Resources Wales, Network Rail, Site Developers, and Sellafield.
What We Are Looking For
* Working towards an undergraduate degree or higher in civil engineering, with a predicted 2:1 or higher.
* Strong numerical and analysis skills, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and/or a coding language.
* Ability to think creatively and a desire to continuously learn and develop while solving engineering problems.
* Awareness of neighbouring disciplines and a desire to learn more to support an appreciation of context.
* Able to be flexible to the needs of the business and changes to projects.
