Role Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects
As part of the global Nidec Procurement team, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of Procurements overall Projects and New Product Introduction (NPD) program. This will include Project managing the key programs/Projects, working across the business, integrating, aligning, and delivering the Procurement requirements through effective project management, communication, and reporting skills.
As Senior Procurement Manager – NPD & Projects you and your team will take the lead from the inception of the Project at its initiation, right the way through to the delivery. You will be required to confidently demonstrate our performance for both the Commercial and project timeline, in bi-weekly reviews with the Procurement Director.
As a key leader within the Procurement and Supply Chain team, you will play a major part in the alignment and approach of our Procurement function. You will ensure that all sourcing decisions are made and support our overall direction and plan, providing a invaluable part of the vision and directional strategy agreed within the Senior leadership team.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Success in this role will positively contribute to Strategic Business and Financial objectives. The main responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:
Statergy & Development
* Work with the Global Procurement Category Managers in the alignment and direction of short/medium/long term strategies and goals for their Category areas.
* Utilise cross functionally to ensure total alignment of each functional requirements and ensure that these are covered in the project progress reporting.
* Work globally with all Regions and functional areas to ensure optimised performance and alignment to the overall Project plan.
* Proactively lead and participate in Project Management meetings and reviews.
Tactical Execution
* Work cross functionally to develop and manage our Procurement NPD and Project plans, reporting on progress and deliverables where and when required.
* Take the lead in Procurement NPD and Project reviews, both internally and with the wider business.
* Support the New Product Development plans to improve and deliver, against tight timescales.
* Together with your team, work with the Regions to ensure implementation of NPD plans, ensuring alignment to our targets, goals and performance.
* Maintain set KPI’s for NPD and Projects, to measure the execution of the Project plans on an ongoing basis.
Team Structure and People Management
* Provide leadership and direction for the Procurement NPD team.
* Become a key advocate of our Procurement NPD and Projects approach and the “go to” person for the wider Business knowledge and requirements.
* Continuously monitor and review the performance of our NPD and Projects plans.
* Demonstrate strong communication across the Business at all levels, giving confidence in the direction and execution.
* Manage regular reviews with Procurement teams/other Functions/Regions to ensure delivery of our plans.
Relationship Management
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.
* Create strong collaborative relationships with the wider Procurement and Supply Chain team, R&D, Operations and Finance teams.
* Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and performance against project deliverables.
* Monitor supplier performance against requirements.
Travel Requirements:
* Travel will potentially be expected to various Nidec locations and suppliers
* Travel requirements may also include international trips, including long haul when required.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
* CIPS, Business Bachelor’s Degree, or Project Management qualification
* Proven experience in Projects or Procurement and Supply Chain, ideally in a production environment.
* Familiarity with electronics and mechanical raw parts base. (Preferred)
* Project Management experience in a complex, cost-effective environment.
