Teaching Assistant (SEN) - Year 1 (KS1) | Temporary position (at least one term) | North of Cambridge
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Year 1 at a vibrant primary school outside of Cambridge (off of the A14). This role involves working with various children, not on a 1:1 basis, but within a classroom setting. The children have a range of needs including behavioural challenges, ASD/ADHD, and EAL (English as an Additional Language).
Responsibilities
* Support children with various SEN in a Year 1 classroom setting.
* Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Provide support during classroom activities and ensure engagement.
* Manage small groups to facilitate interactive and inclusive learning.
* Cover lunchtime duties, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all children.
* Work closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to monitor and report on the children\'s progress.
* Use initiative and creativity to enhance learning experiences.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working with SEN children is essential.
* Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs within the classroom.
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
* Initiative and the ability to engage children in learning activities.
* Professionalism in all interactions and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
* A supportive and nurturing approach, with a strong understanding of child development.
