Support Practitioner: Attendance Officer
Salary: Band 4 £28,598 to £31,022 FTE (actual salary £25,228 per annum)
Working Pattern: Term time plus 2 weeks
Contract type: Full time 5 days per week, 37.50 hours per week
Start date: as soon as possible

Responsibilities
* Support the school to fulfil statutory attendance, child protection and exclusion obligations under the supervision of the Assistant Head Teacher of Behaviour and Attendance.
* Promote positive attitudes towards regular school attendance; deliver group work and 1:1 sessions and support students in alternative provision.
Qualifications / Skills
* The ability to develop and deliver group work and 1:1 sessions with young people
* Ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people to learn
* Compassionate and caring, resilient and determined
* Experience of effective student-facing pastoral support
* Understanding of student attendance, punctuality and behaviour data to develop strategies in response to student needs
* Organised and able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
* Effective communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience in handling difficult conversations
* A full driving licence and access to a car is essential
Working hours and requirements
Candidates must be available to work Monday to Friday, 8.15 am to 4.15 pm. Some flexibility with working times will be required.
