Job Description:

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English who thrives in a supportive and nurturing environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and collaborative English department in a warm and welcoming secondary school in Ealing. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2025.

About the School:

Our school is a happy and inclusive learning community where students feel valued, respected, and supported to achieve their full potential. We foster a strong sense of belonging and encourage students to develop their confidence, resilience, and kindness towards others. We believe that a warm and welcoming school environment is essential for students to thrive academically and personally.

About the English Department:

The English department is a close-knit and supportive team with a shared passion for fostering a love of language and literature in our students. We offer a rich and engaging curriculum that covers a wide range of texts, genres, and writing styles. We encourage students to develop their communication skills, express their ideas with confidence, and appreciate the power of language.

About the Role:

* Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on experience and interest.
* Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
* Create a positive and supportive classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and sharing their ideas.
* Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including drama, debates, creative writing workshops, and technology, to bring English to life for students.
* Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
* Contribute to the department's curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our English curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
* Foster a love of English in students, encouraging them to develop their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in English education.
* Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as book clubs, debating societies, and school productions.

Ideal Candidate:

* Holds QTS or equivalent.
* Possesses excellent subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
* Demonstrates a passion for teaching English and a commitment to student success.
* Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
* Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.
* Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for English and relevant examination specifications.
* Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* Is passionate about creating a warm and welcoming learning environment for all students.
* Competitive salary (MPS/UPS + Outer London Weighting)
* Comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme and access to employee assistance programs.
* Excellent professional development opportunities, including opportunities for subject-specific training in English.
* A supportive and collaborative working environment where your contributions are valued.
* Opportunities to contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and pastoral roles.
