Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Clinical Support Worker to join our community nursing team in Alfred Barrow District Nursing team. The role is full time and will include weekends, bank holidays, evenings and nights. You will deliver holistic, patient-centred care within the community, with opportunities for personal and professional development. You will work as part of a dynamic team that values staff health and wellbeing and high standards of care. You will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge related to increasingly complex community care, including wound, pressure ulcer and end of life care.

Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals—Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal—along with several community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practices, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various consultant-led services. WGH provides hospital services plus an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions. Local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Person specification
Qualification
* Care Certificate or willingness and ability to undertake
* Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 3 or appropriate qualification
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Experience
* Experience in a health or social care setting
* Previous experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of working with older persons
* Experience of working with palliative care patients
Knowledge
* Evidence of recent/ongoing training
Skills
* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
* Access to own vehicle / Ability to travel as required
