New role – Defence Strategic Sales Lead - Major Programmes


Shaping, influencing, and winning workshare on the UK’s biggest defence programmes.

If you know how to navigate MOD’s operating model, negotiate with Tier 1 primes, and deliver strategic captures on GCAP, ODYSSEY, NSoIT or equivalent, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.


I’m representing a forward-leaning digital and software services organisation that’s making a strategic shift into Category A/B MOD programmes. To enable this, we’re searching for a Defence Strategic Sales Lead – a high-impact role at the heart of shaping and securing workshare on some of the UK’s most important defence programmes.


This isn’t about waiting for tenders to drop. It’s about getting upstream, shaping direction, and influencing procurement long before bids are written.


Why this role matters:

* Strategic Capture Expertise – Demonstrable success leading or supporting captures on major MOD programmes such as GCAP, ODYSSEY, NSoIT(E/D), Morpheus or Evolve.
* MOD Ecosystem Insight – Strong grasp of the Defence Operating Model, including DE&S, Strategic Command, Defence Digital, and Dstl.
* Prime Engagement – Direct experience negotiating teaming agreements or joint pursuits with Tier 1 primes like BAE Systems, Raytheon, Thales or Leidos, positioning this organisation as a trusted partner in multi-year delivery ecosystems.
