As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of multiple integrated work packages. Your focus will be highly varied, requiring a strong understanding of site operations, quality control, and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Drainage Systems: Overseeing the installation, testing, and quality control of highway drainage systems (gullies, pipes, manholes, etc.).
* Pavements & Kerbing: Managing the setting out, installation, and quality checks for kerbing and associated surfacing works (asphalt/tarmac).
* Street Lighting: Coordinating and supervising the installation and commissioning of street lighting and associated electrical infrastructure.
* Site Management: Direct supervision of site teams, subcontractors, and labour to ensure productivity and adherence to the programme.
* Health & Safety: Ensuring a rigorous safety culture is maintained, conducting regular safety briefings, and implementing risk assessments (RAMS).
* Quality & Handover: Preparing, managing, and finalising handover packs, as-built documentation, and quality assurance records to ensure smooth project closure and client acceptance.
* Reporting: Tracking progress, managing materials, and producing regular site reports for the Site Agent/Project Manager.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Sub Agent, Section Engineer, or Senior Site Supervisor on highways or civil engineering projects.
* Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of highways construction methods, with specific experience in drainage, kerbing, and surfacing.
* Qualifications: HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
* Certifications: Valid CSCS card is essential. SMSTS/SSSTS preferred.
* Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Drive: A proactive approach to problem‑solving and a commitment to delivering high‑quality results under pressure.
