Job Description Facilities Manager (Distribution Centre) Northampton Up to £40,000 (DOE) Bonus (up to 10%) Permanent, Full-Time We’re looking for a proactive and hands-on Facilities Manager to take full ownership of facilities and maintenance operations for our clients busy distribution centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, combining strategic oversight with day-to-day problem-solving. You’ll be responsible for maintaining site-wide compliance, driving preventative maintenance programmes, and leading refurbishment projects — all while ensuring their infrastructure runs smoothly and safely. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all building systems and services across the site. Manage planned preventative maintenance to keep operations running efficiently. Lead refurbishment and improvement projects, liaising with contractors and suppliers. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, legal, and environmental standards. Take responsibility for MHE and FLT management systems. Supervise site security, cleaning, and waste management. Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to support smooth day-to-day running. Manage maintenance budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities. Provide flexible support for occasional shift or weekend requirements. The Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in facilities management, ideally within a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices (IOSH qualification desirable). Highly organised with excellent communication skills. Comfortable using technology to monitor and improve systems. Practical, adaptable, and proactive in approach. Full UK driving licence. Desirable: Degree or formal qualification in Facilities/Property Management. Familiarity with CDM regulations. Experience in budget control and supplier negotiations.
