Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to promote the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision Settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All Subject specialisms will be considered.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with SEMH, and allows all pupils to make progress.
2. Working with Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream School and have SEMH and SEND of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour
3. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
4. The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
5. Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
6. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
7. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience
About the School:
8. The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Newcastle.
9. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have SEMH and challenging behaviour
Pay, Hours and Contract:
10. Pay – Between £130-200 per day
11. Hours –
12. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. For the right candidate, a Permanent job offer may be made.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
15. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
16. QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
17. Strong Behaviour Management skills
18. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
19. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
20. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
21. Experience of Teaching within the UK
22. A genuine passion for Teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning
23. Strong organisation and communication skills
