This vacancy has been born out of the evolution of the company over the past 5 years. They have gone from a startup to scale up and are embarking on the next phase of expansion through growth and consolidation of what they already have.
The role is a senior position within the company and can be based in either Edinburgh or Glasgow and will be hybrid 3 days per week in the office, 2 days at home.
Your reporting line will be to both the COO and to the head of estate and facilities. This role is a standalone role, however there could be scope to build a team around the successful incumbent.
The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is multifaceted and will evolve in the fullness of time. The first objective will be to review the current processes and work with the compliance teams to implement efficient and effective processes.
The second phase will be to look at the commercial contracts that are currently in place and put frameworks in place that will make the tendering process more streamlined, professional and consistent.
You will be responsible for the procuring processes of goods and services throughout the world, however you will be UK based and working in the immediate term for the UK entity.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Enhance the existing contracts and procurement policies, procedures, and strategic sourcing plans and develop further, including all regulatory aspects.
Manage vendor relationships and working with Legal negotiate supplier contracts to achieve optimal terms, which meet the company's requirements for pricing, quality, regulations and delivery timescales.
Establish quality control. Conduct regular supplier performance assessments and mitigate supplier-related risks.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes.
Work closely with Legal, Data Protection officer and MLRO.
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations governing procurement operations.
Monitor and report on procurement processes and performance metrics.
Engage with senior management to provide regular updates on procurement strategy and initiation.
Contract management of existing strategic client and supplier contracts.
The Requirements
Our client is looking for a procurement professional who is influential, persuasive and comfortable working with senior, C-Suit colleagues and who is adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A procurement qualification is preferred; however, our client has stipulated that they would consider an applicant who is degree qualified in either supply chain, procurement or business administration. It is essential that applicants have a minimum of 5 years of experience within the UK, ideally within a services environment.
