SEND Teaching Assistant

Contract: Temporary (with the potential for permanent)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
A caring and inclusive primary school in Halewood is looking for a committed and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team this October. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with additional needs in a nurturing environment that values every child’s unique potential.
You’ll be working closely with pupils who require tailored support, helping them access learning and thrive both academically and emotionally. The school is known for its supportive staff, strong community ethos, and dedication to inclusive education.
Your Role Will Include:
* Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
* Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapting resources to suit individual needs.
* Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development.
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
* Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
* Has experience working with children with SEND (e.g. Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs).
* Is patient, empathetic, and confident in supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs.
* Understands safeguarding and the importance of pupil wellbeing.
* Has strong communication skills and works well as part of a team.
* Holds a relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).
* Has an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to apply).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
