About the role:As a Cards Architect with expertise in Digital Retail Banking, you will collaborate with our client’s technology and architecture teams. You will be responsible for owning end‑to‑end solution design and providing architectural leadership across card‑based platforms within a large‑scale financial services programme.Job Details:Location: Sheffield Shifts: Monday to Friday, hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)
Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2026
IR35 Status: In scopeRoles and Responsibilities:
1. Lead end‑to‑end solution architecture for cards and credit card platforms
2. Translate business requirements into scalable, cost‑effective solution designs
3. Break down BRDs into MVPs and architecture deliverables
4. Provide architectural direction and ensure adherence toernance standards
5. Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology teams
6. Manage architectural risks, issues, and dependencies
7. Partner with external suppliers on integration and architecture patterns
8. Contribute to technology roadmaps and future‑state designs
9. Mentor and support delivery teams with architectural guidance
Other stuff we’re potentially looking for:
10. Extensive experience in cards / credit card processing systems
11. Strong background within financial services or digital retail banking
12. Proven solution architecture delivery experience
13. Full‑stack solution design (web, app, API, orchestration; mainframe beneficial)
14. Cloud platform experience or certification
15. Resilient and high‑availability system design experience
16. Security‑by‑design mindset
17. Strongmunication and stakeholder‑management skills
18. Experience working in large, matrixed environments
