About the Role
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (GGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to over 1.15 million in our local area and to 2.2 million when including regional and national services.
There are two posts available:
* Post 1 – Mon‑Fri 08:45‑17:00 (full‑time, 37 hours per week)
* Post 2 – Tues & Wed 08:45‑17:00 (part‑time, 15.8 hours per week)
When applying, please state which post you are applying for. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative, clerical and receptionist support to enable effective clinical care. Maintain electronic and paper‑based patient record systems, ensuring records are confidential, accurate, up‑to‑date and available when needed. Coordinate patient appointments for outpatient clinics, day cases and inpatient admissions, and update demographic and administrative data through regular checks.
Qualifications
* National 4 or Level 1 qualification in three subjects, including English or equivalent.
* Experience in general administration, office work or previous clerical duties desirable.
* Computer literate with good keyboard skills.
* Previous reception experience desirable.
* Prior experience of using a Patient Management System preferred; training will be provided.
Location and Flexibility
This is a GGC‑wide post and can be moved to any location. The initial base will be QEUH. The post may close sooner than advertised if interest is high.
