Salary c.£110,000-£130,000 + Competitive Bonus, Car Allowance & Generous benefits package
The Opportunity
We are retained by a leading listed housebuilder with a substantial presence in Yorkshire and several other key markets across the UK. The business is recognised for delivering high-quality, value-for-money homes and has a strong platform for continued growth.
With plans to open new regions and further expand its footprint, the company is strengthening its senior leadership team. They now seek an experienced Head of Technical / Technical Director to lead the regional Engineering and Design function and play a central role in shaping the future of the Yorkshire business.
This is a high-impact leadership role with visibility at regional board level and a clear line of sight to broader leadership opportunities; for the right individual, this role is viewed as part of medium-term MD succession planning.
The Role
Working closely with the Regional MD and wider leadership team, you will:
* Lead the Technical function across the Yorkshire region
* Drive technical standards, design quality and engineering excellence across multiple developments
* Ensure sites are technically deliverable, commercially viable and compliant with all relevant standards and regulations
* Provide clear leadership to a high-performing team, setting expectations, driving accountability and supporting professional development
* Collaborate closely with Land, Commercial, Construction and Sales to de-risk schemes and enable successful delivery
* Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in technical processes, systems and product
* Play a visible role in supporting the growth and potential creation of new regions within the wider business
Candidate Profile
* Experienced Technical leaders from the housebuilding / new homes sector with a track record of driving technical performance
* Strong people leaders with experience of coaching, developing and motivating high-performing teams
* Individuals operating at regional management level, comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and working cross-functionally
* Candidates with direct experience of the Yorkshire market – this would be a distinct advantage
* Professionals with an engineering background who are commercially aware and delivery-focused
Our client is open to candidates who are prepared to relocate to the region or commit to a weekly commute.
Location
The role is based in Yorkshire, with an expectation of being in the office / on site 3–4 days per week. It is essential that the successful candidate immerses themselves in the local market, builds strong internal and external relationships, and has a direct impact on the company’s performance and continued success in the region.
