Position Summary
Egerton High School is seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our small specialist high school supporting pupils with special educational needs. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in improving attendance, supporting families and helping our young people thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, pastoral staff, families and external agencies to promote excellent attendance and punctuality across the school.
* Monitor and maintain accurate attendance records, follow up daily absences and identify attendance concerns early.
* Support intervention strategies to improve engagement, communicate regularly with parents and carers and build positive relationships with families.
* Assist pupils who may experience barriers to attendance linked to SEND, anxiety or additional needs.
Qualifications and Experience
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
* Strong communication skills with parents, carers and professionals.
* Experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable.
* Calm, empathetic and solution-focused approach.
* Understanding of SEND attendance challenges, ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Benefits and Working Conditions
