Lead Haematology Nurse
An experienced senior nurse with a Haematology background is required to join the Cancer and Clinical Support division at BHRUT. The Lead Haematology Nurse will line‑manage a team, role‑model high standards of clinical practice, and ensure patients receive high‑quality care across the Haematology Cancer pathway.
* Work closely with the Haematology consultant body and multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) to support patients through their treatment pathway in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Lead and develop nursing practice for patients and colleagues within the haematology department, including the myeloproliferative and haematological disease areas (e.g. chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, acute myeloid leukaemia).
* Manage the Haematology CNS team, supporting performance, education and development alongside service improvement initiatives.
* Drive change and seek new ways of working to align pathways and processes with the NHS Cancer Plan, promoting seamless service within the multi‑professional framework.
* Engage in clinical practice, management, education, research, audit and professional activities in line with NICE guidelines and organisational objectives, within the clinical governance framework.
* Advanced clinical practice experience, ideally as a Haematology CNS or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
* Evidence of ability to carry out bone marrow sampling or a willingness to undertake training if required.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, with the capacity to inspire and develop a multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of NICE guidelines and NHS Cancer Plan, and experience in patient‑centred care delivery.
